Zirconia

Zirconia (ZrO2)

Zirconia is a ceramic material for a wide field of applications. In order of the grade of the stabilization are the high thermal or mechanical performance optimized. Achievable is high thermal resistance up to 2300°C or fracture toughness up to 1200MPa.

A very important characteristic is the low thermal conductivity.

Stabilization is reached by adding Yttrium Oxide. The dotation affected the ionic conductivity. This is notably important for the use as base for solid oxygen fuel cell (SOFC) and for application as lambda oxygen sensor. We use Yttrium Oxide stabilized Zirconia in tetragonal or cubic form.
